Scott Petito Productions and NRS Recording Studio is a legendary recording and production destination in Catskill, NY, in New York’s Hudson Valley.
Some of the renowned artists we have worked with include: The Band, James Taylor, Chick Corea, Steve Gadd, Mercury Rev, Keith Richards, Michael Franks, The Fugs, Jack DeJohnette, John Scofield, Dave Brubeck, Pete Seeger, and hundreds more.
Our studio features world-class equipment including an API 1608 console, Neve preamps, vintage tube microphones, and both analog and digital recording capabilities. The studio combines classic analog warmth with modern digital precision.
Recent notable projects include the Hudson supergroup album (Jack DeJohnette, John Scofield, John Medeski, Larry Grenadier), recordings with Dave Holland, Roy Haynes, Chick Corea, and Mercury Rev’s acclaimed albums.

Richard Shindell
Careless
Meticulously recorded over three years at NRS. Called "among the best music he has ever created." Features Larry Campbell, David Spinozza, and Jerry Marotta.
Mercury Rev
The Light In You & More
Petito played electric upright bass on Deserter's Songs (1998, Gold album). His association with Mercury Rev has continued through subsequent albums and mixing work.
The Levin Brothers
Fade to Blue, 2022
Recorded and mixed at NRS in July 2022 by Petito. Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson) and Pete Levin with special guest flutist Ali Ryerson.
